St. Bede’s School, England/PFA Anniversary Tournament

The visit of St. Bede’s School from East Sussex, England was certainly a highlight of the events to mark the 20th Anniversary of the PFA.

The boys from the UK of course found the heat and humidity of Nigeria, very challenging, especially when trying to play football!!

The schools participation in the PFA’s 20th Anniversary Tournament was their first ever visit to the African Continent and, by all accounts, their delegation was overwhelmed by the tremendous welcome they received in Nigeria.

They also commented most favourably on the professionalism of the events organisation by the PFA and the media interest and coverage that surrounded the occasion of their visit.

Certainly, although they did not return to the UK with the trophy and winners medals, they did return with most positive and unforgettable memories.

Winners of the PFA 20th Anniversary Tournament

Perhaps it was appropriate!!

The Pepsi Football Academy, in the last seconds of play in the final, scored the winning goal against an excellent River Lane Academy from Enugu to secure the PFA’s 20th Anniversary trophy.
