


| Pepsi Confirm Commitment Behind PFA |
![]() The Chairman of the Nigerian Football League, Chief Oyuike Obaseki has extolled the Pepsi Football Academy as a trail blazer in the mission of discovering and developing youth talents for Nigerian football. ![]() Obaseki, the special guest of honour, at the grand re-launch of the Pepsi Football Academy at the Lagos Airport Hotel on 5th July 2007 said: "I am very delighted to be here. When I got the invitation to this event it did not take me any time to accept because the man behind the Pepsi Football Academy, Chief Kasimawo Laloko, has been doing a wonderful job of developing Nigerian youth talents." Also speaking at the event, former President of the West African Football Union, Chief Jonathan Ogufere, asked the audience to applaud the sterling contributions of Coach Laloko and all the PFA coaches to the development of football. He further said that "it is also pertinent to put on record the overwhelming support of Iain Nelson, consultant to the PFA, who has proven to be the back-bone of the Pepsi Football Academy over the past two decades." ![]() Nelson, during his address, stated that with the PFA now nearly 15 years of age, the re-launch proved a suitable occasion to reflect on past achievements and re-confirm Pepsi's continued commitment behind the PFA and the development of today's youth and Nigeria's future football stars.
