PEPSI FESTIVAL OF YOUTH 2007

Held in early December, the annual Pepsi Festival of Youth involved over 200 Pepsi Football Academy youngsters from across Nigeria.

The female 5-a-side tournament, in round robin format, was held in the indoor sports hall of the University of Lagos while the male U 16's competition, in knock-out format, was held at the main bowl of the sports centre.

Pepsi Football Academy students were accommodated at the UNILAG hostels.

FEMALE TOURNAMENT

PFA Sagamu emerged the overall winner of the female competition with MVP awards presented to:

Sunday Uchechi [Sagamu], Ogechi Chilem [Owerri], Opara Chilem [Owerri], Okoro Rosmary [Sagamu], Opeoluwa Makanjuola [Agege].

Sunday Uchechi won the highest goal-scorer award for her 6 goals.

Best goal keeper award was presented to Emaodia Esher [Sagamu].

The tournament's overall MVP award was won by Ogechi Chilem.

MALE TOURNAMENT

PFA Benin/Enugu Select won the trophy and gold medals, overcoming PFA Ibadan/Ilorin Select in the final, while the bronze medals were won by the PFA Abeokuta/Sagamu Select team.

Osakpolor Asemota was judged the tournaments overall MVP, with Nwakwo Linus voted as the best goal keeper. Kelor Francis won the highest goal scorer award.

Other match MVP awards were won by:

Chidiebere Onyekwere, Patrick Davis, Patrick Okereke, Oladimeji Hassan, Christopher Rexford, Osakpolor Asemota and Kelor Francis.
