Liberty U 19 International Classic, Ghana

The Pepsi Football Academy travelled to Accra, Ghana as one of the 8 teams competing in the International Classic, hosted by Liberty Professionals FC over the period 26th-31st May 2008.

Other teams, in addition to the hosts and the Pepsi Football Academy, included Top Talents FC, Zaytuna United, International Allies FC and Bechem United FC [all Ghana] along with Liberty Academy of Togo and Festac Academy, Nigeria.

The tournament was won by the hosts, Liberty Professionals with the Festac Academy as runners-up.

The PFA recorded a won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1 series of results while there was good news for both Femi Joseph [PFA Kaduna] and Noble Anasoh [PFA Jos]

Both attackers [and indeed both former contestants in the PFA's Pepsi World Challenge, the first TV football reality show] were spotted by scouts at the tournament and have the prospect of trials abroad.
